For neighborhood dog owners, there is no better place to take Fido to socialize with other dogs, and other neighbors! On weekends (weekdays too) the park is packed with canines of all sizes. But as any dog owner could tell you, the park needs some help. The intense use of the park has denuded it of any ground vegetation and that - combined with it's position on a hill - causes a lot of erosion runoff from the park. After a rain, low areas of the park are a muddy mess. The chain link fence makes matters worse. Over time, bark and leaves have collected at the base of the fence, forming an earthen dam and impeding the drainage into the field.
As mentioned above, the issue with the fence and general improvements to grading need to be made so the park can become usable soon after it rains. Do you use the dog park? We would like to hear from you with ideas on how to improve the dog park.
